APTN greenlights Mohawk Girls from Rezolution Pictures
APTN has greenlit development on the half-hour comedy Mohawk Girls from Moose TV producer Rezolution Pictures.
The possible sitcom about four 20-somethings defining who a modern-day Mohawk woman will star Kaniehtiio Horn, Kyle Nobess, Rachelle White Wind, Glen Gould, Ashley Michaels and newcomers Brittany LeBorgne, Heather White and Maika Harper.
Tracey Deer, who created Mohawk Girls, will direct.
Deer will also executive produce the potential comedy with Cynthia Knight, the series showrunner.
Executive producers for Quebec-based Rezolution Pictures are Catherine Bainbridge, Christina Fon, Linda Ludwick and Ernest Webb.
Also Monday, Rogers Media’s OLN said it has pacted with BBC America and UK’s Channel Five to co-produce a travel series hosted by Dominic Monaghan (Lost).
Wild Things, which sees Monaghan travel the globe in search of exotic insects, is produced by Canadian indie producer Cream Productions and UK factual producer Wildfire Television.
ITV Studios Global Entertainment is handling international sales.
Eight episodes of Wild Things, to be shot in Ecuador, Venezuela, Cameroon, Namibia, Thailand and Borneo, will debut on OLN later this year.
The travel series is executive produced by Dave Brady and Jenn Kuzmyk Ruch for Cream Productions and Philip Clarke and Simon Raikes for Wildfire Television.
