VVS Films acquires Aftershock and Pawn Shop Chronicles in Berlin
Canadian distributor VVS Films has unveiled a number of pre-buys and acquisitions at the 2012 European Film Market, including the action comedy Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman and the Eli Roth-produced action/horror pic Aftershock.
Voltage Pictures’ Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman, to star Shia Labeouf (pictured) and Evan Rachel Wood, is set to start shooting in May from indie producer Bona Fide Productions.
Filmnation’s Aftershock, directed by Nicolas Lopez and now in production, is produced by Roth’s Cross Creek Pictures.
Roth co-stars with Selena Gomez.
Also in Berlin, VVS also acquired from Lionsgate the Mimran Schur Pictures action comedy Pawn Shop Chronicles, directed by Wayne Kramer and starring Paul Walker.
And IM Global sold VVS the action film Enemies Closer, which stars Jean-Claude Van Damme and is directed by Peter Hyams.
