Milk War wins at food-focused award show
Milk War, an original doc from Canada’s ichannel focusing on Ontario dairy farmer Michael Schmidt and his battle with authorities about the right to distribute unpasteurized milk, was named best TV special/documentary in the broadcast media category at this past weekend’s James Beard Foundation Awards.
The awards ceremony, held in New York, celebrates the best in the North American food and beverage industry.
Milk War was written and directed by journalist Kevin O’Keefe and produced by Declan O’Driscoll, with Richard Paradiso and Patrick Hickey as associate producers and narration from actor Colm Feore. The doc was up against Emeril’s Culinary Adventure featuring chef Emeril Green and The Cooking Channel’s cleverly titled The Four Coursemen.
