Alliance Films picks up Jason Eisener’s actioner

Alliance Films has picked up the Canadian rights to Jason Eisener's action film Hobo With a Shotgun, which stars Rutger Hauer, Gregory Smith and Robb Wells.

Alliance Films has picked up the Canadian rights to Jason Eisener’s action film Hobo With a Shotgun (pictured), which stars Rutger Hauer, Gregory Smith and Robb Wells.

Alliance’s British unit, Momentum Pictures, also acquired the Canadian indie pic about a a vigilante homeless man for its home market.

Hobo was shot earlier this year in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia by producers Rhombus Media, Whizbang Films and Yer Dead Productions.

Other deals unveiled at the American Film Market include Entertainment One picking up the Canadian rights to Randall Cole’s 88 Arletta Avenue from indie producer Copperheart Entertainment.

The suspense thriller, to star Nick Stahl, is to start production later this month in Toronto.

Steve Hoban and Mark Smith (Ryan) are producing, while Vincenzo Natali (Splice) will executive produce.

Randall Cole last helmed Real Time, which starred Jay Baruchel and Randy Quaid.
