Two rookie CW series shot in Canada, Nikita and Hellcats, have received full-season, back-nine orders.

The cheerleading drama Hellcats shoots in Vancouver and airs Wednesday night on CW, while Nikita, produced in Toronto, has performed well on Thursdays.

“This fall, the CW made several strategic scheduling moves, including adding two of the most buzzed-about new series, Hellcats and Nikita, to our line-up, and we’re thrilled that they’ve paid off for us,” said CW programming chief Dawn Ostroff said in a statement.

Hellcats from executive producer Tom Welling of Smallville is produced by Bonanza Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios, and is scheduled to wrap production on November 18.

Nikita, from Warner Bros. Television, is shooting at the Cinespace Studios complex in Toronto through to early December.
