YTV is hitting the newsstands with a new national kids’ magazine ytv whoa!, a joint venture between ytv, Today’s Parent Group and Paton Marketing Resources.
Aimed at seven- to 11-year-olds, the publication will debut in May 1999 with a circulation of 200,000 and will be distributed nationally in Pizza Hut restaurants. It will also be available in libraries, by subscription and at retail outlets for $3 a copy.
The magazine, designed by Creative House, will contain the same look and style of the network while focusing on general entertainment with sports, movies, music, horoscopes and comics as well as some 3D graphics.
Three issues of YTV WHOA! will be published in 1999, and a minimum of four are planned for 2000. The advertising-to-editorial ratio will be 35:65.
